Summer is that time of the year when we all take a step back from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives to enjoy and indulge in new experiences. It’s a time for slowing down and reassessing the things that spark joy in your life. That’s what this season of Osé is all about. Stepping back and moving forward with intention.
This season’s theme was set to be expansion and the underlying tone was about moving faster, building bigger and reaching new heights. As the season approached that message felt insincere to what Osé truly stands for. Last season with Rebirth we brought you so many stories, some great, some less great and this season is about slowing down, taking a look around and prioritizing quality over rapid growth. So rather than this season being all about expansion, this season is about alignment, or rather realignment, to what started this adventure in the first place.
While there is some expansion with welcoming Rita Fairchild our sassy, witty, advice columnist who wraps you in with a hug but straightens you out real fast if you need it. She is a straight shooter whose advice comes with a healthy dose of reality and a handful of humor. We are also introducing some new categories; Indulge and Dwell, because who doesn’t want to indulge in the best and dwell in the comfort of their own design. And you can now find us on Substack! There will also be some contraction. We will no longer be posting articles everyday. Oftentimes you start a project full of excitement and desire to share what you have learned, with that comes a standard you have set and want to uphold that doesn’t always feel authentic to your original intent. Rather than moving towards an unrealistic approach where ideas get watered down and words become hard to find, the path forward for Osé is with intention which is consequently this month’s theme.
We will also be saying goodbye to our Editorial Director. Her work has taken her on a different path. I am sure she will accomplish great things and I wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors.
They say living in the present moment is the best thing for us but I believe living in the season and letting it envelop you in all it has to offer, is also important for slowing down, assessing and ensuring that you are living life with every ounce of yourself.
As we continue through this journey season by season I am very excited to continue to bring you stories that make you feel deeply and introduce you to something or someone new and interesting. The new season and the new theme has us utterly invigorated and in full creative movement. This magazine is for the loudmouths, the ones who feel they don’t always fit and we will do better moving forward to honor those founding values. Welcome to the season of intention, you belong here as you are and in all your glory.
