For years we have been on the hunt for the perfect sustainable manicure, which we have been more and more successful in finding, but when it comes to sustainable gel nail polish, that has been an entirely different story. However, our current obsession has changed the sustainable nail polish game forever. Green Flash gel polish and Green nail polish created by Manicurist Paris, are vegan and sustainable nail polish options but they're oh so much more than that! It’s nail care, it’s biodegradable glitter, it’s sustainable gel nail polish - with none of the harmful chemicals. They even have nail polish safe for your kiddos! Everything we want our manicured nails to be and things we didn’t even realize we could have!

Why do we believe this is the best sustainable nail polish brand?

This vegan, long-lasting gel polish is free from harmful chemicals, offering a non-toxic, sustainable alternative to traditional manicures.

Manicurist Paris is our favorite sustainable nail polish brand because they aren’t just committed to clean products, they’re committed to bringing their customers the products they love, in a wide range of colors and styles all while making their nail polish eco-friendly.

For years we have tried vegan nail polish or clean nail polish options; however, we have found that the range of colors is limited and the options for embellishments are non-existent. Which -as a girlie who has been painting her nails since she was 2- what’s the fun in boring nails?!

As long as we can remember, gel nail polish has been the choice to avoid harmful acrylics and short-wear, easily chipped old-school nail polish and while gel nail polish has evolved over time, it hasn’t gotten rid of its main problem: harmful chemicals in the polish, the remover and harsh UV light. However, Manicurist Paris’ owner Fanny has changed all that.

She has made sustainable gel nail polish fun! With vibrant colors and biodegradable glitter, their formulas are all developed with clean and bio-sourced ingredients like biomass such as corn, wheat, cotton, cassava sugar cane, and even potatoes, according to their website. Their formula allows for a 10-day, no chip manicure. What’s better? No harsh nail destroying chemicals to remove. They have their own gentle remover that is designed to protect the keratin layers of your nails.

Why is it important to use sustainable gel nail polish?

A complete eco-friendly manicure set with non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty-free gel polish for long-lasting, salon-quality nails at home.

Normal gel nail polish is full of harmful, carcinogenic chemicals and it is coupled with a curing process that exposes its users to concentrated UV light. And while it was fun for us to all roast ourselves under the tanning bed in the early aughts, our Playboy Bunny sticker tan lines and burnt-smelling skinned selves have learned better. Harsh carcinogenic chemicals and concentrated UV light exposure can increase your risk of cancer in the long run. These factors also contribute to the deterioration of the health of your nails.

Looking at the bigger picture, the harmful chemicals present are also terrible for your nail technician because they inhale them all day, every day they’re in the salon. In addition, filing down acrylic nails and inhaling those particles is extremely harmful to their lungs and overall health.

Does sustainable nail polish really work?

This vegan and cruelty-free nail treatment hydrates, strengthens, and promotes healthy nails as part of an eco-conscious beauty routine. If you had asked if sustainable nail polish really worked 10 years ago the answer would be a resounding no. There were options on the market for vegan nail polish but vegan doesn’t mean free from harmful chemicals. It’s an important step of course but it’s not the solution.

Now that Manicurist Paris’ Green Flash sustainable gel nail polish has hit the market the answer is a resounding yes. Green, clean, made from biomass, cruelty free and sustainable -as well as long lasting and colorful- it is the option, in our opinion, for a beautiful gel nail polish manicure that will let your personality shine. Do we have to remind you of the biodegradable glitter?

Is sustainable gel nail polish the answer?

Finding Manicurist Paris and diving deep into their ethos and product line was a treat. That 2 year-old slyly stealing her mother’s nail polish and meticulously painting her nails who turned into a sustainability freak can now trust that when/if her children want to paint their nails they will have a safe and harsh chemical-free way to do so. And I know that every time I do my nails I am supporting a woman-owned business that is dedicated to making high quality sustainable gel nail polish and sustainable vegan nail polish while caring for my nails, my vanity, my nail technician and the environment.

My grandmother always said “You have to suffer to be beautiful.” but thankfully with a company like Manicurist Paris, that no longer has to be true.
